Fishing Tournament and Cruise In Are A Part of the 42nd Annual Johnston Peach Blossom Festival

The Bass Fishing Tournament and Cruise In are now accepting people interested in being part of these events at the Johnston, SC, Peach Blossom Festival, May 2, 2026.

Anglers who want to show their fishing abilities can sign up for the Bass Fishing Tournament, part of the many Festival events.

The Tournament will be held May 2, the same day as the popular Festival. Check-in is at 6 a.m. that day with weigh-in held in downtown Johnston shortly after 1 p.m.

The entry fee is $50, which includes $10 for big fish pot. This Tournament is pond fishing only. Payback is based on 20 boats on the five-fish limit Tournament, including a first place prize of $400, second prize of $240, and third prize of $160, along with $150 for the largest bass and $50 for the second largest.

Prizes will also be awarded for youth division teams that are age 15 and under.

Entry deadline is May 1.

The Cruise In has become a crowd favorite.

The Cruise In will bring in many interesting and exciting vehicles for participants to enjoy. Some of the cars will be in the parade, which starts at 10 a.m., and then the cars will be available for viewing through about 3 p.m. in the parking lot of All About Performance (formerly Jim Satcher Motors).

Those who want more information or are interested in participating should contact Lee Legg, 803-270-6238 about bringing vintage cars to the Cruise In.

The popular Festival is also taking applications for individuals, organizations, or businesses interested in being a part of event in these areas:

The Corporation works to aid the community in areas such as economic development, education, recreation, historic preservation, tourism, scientific and cultural opportunities, and continued promotion of Johnston.

The Johnston, S.C., Peach Blossom Festival is now accepting applications in all areas for the 42nd Festival, which will be held May 2, 2026.

Entertainment

The Festival wants to feature talented people, local and not-so local, as part of the day-long entertainment held in downtown Johnston. Entertainers who think they have what it takes to be a part of this year’s Festival should contact Gaye Holmes, (803) 275-4234.

Parade

The Festival is now taking applications for individuals, organizations, and businesses interested in being a part of the Festival’s parade. Those interested in participating in the parade should contact Jenny Herlong, (803) 480-2595, 607 Edisto Street, Johnston, SC, 29832.

Arts and Crafts

Do you make cool stuff to sell? Those interested in having a crafter’s space at this year’s Festival should contact Donna Livingston, (803) 275-7002, P.O. Box 311, Johnston, SC 29832.

Food Vendors

The Festival is always looking for good food! Food vendors who would like to participate in the Festival should contact Noah Peterson, (803) 480-0135, P.O. Box 282, Johnston, SC 29832, amossonsfh@yahoo.com.

Miss Johnston Peach Blossom Festival Pageant Accepting Applications

The Johnston Miss Peach Blossom Beauty Pageant will be held at Johnston Elementary School Gymnasium on Saturday, March 28, 2026.

Young ladies ages birth-9 years will compete at 10 a.m.; ages 10-21 years will compete at 3 p.m. 

The Miss division (ages 18-21) will compete for the winner’s $1,000 scholarship and first runner-up’s $250 scholarship to an accredited college or university of her choice.

Johnston Kicks Off Christmas Season with Tree Lighting on December 1

A community-wide Christmas Holiday Season kickoff will be held in Johnston the Monday after Thanksgiving, December 1, 5:30-7 p.m., in downtown Johnston.

The event is sponsored by the Johnston Development Corporation.

The annual Christmas Tree Lighting Program will be held at the Municipal Parking Lot. The Program will feature performances by the Johnston Elementary School Chorus and Johnston-Edgefield-Trenton Middle School Chorus. Santa will also be attending, so bring a camera if you want to get a picture. 

In addition, the program will consist of the reading of The Christmas Story and the lighting of the Town Christmas Tree by Johnston Mayor Thomas Holmes at 6 p.m.

The event will also feature several food vendors as well as crafters.

The event is free and open to all. 

The Johnston Development Corporation, a non-profit volunteer organization that has helped the Town of Johnston grow in many ways for nearly 40 years, works to aid the community in areas such as economic development, education, recreation, historic preservation, tourism, scientific and cultural opportunities, and continued promotion of Johnston. It also sponsors the annual Peach Blossom Festival.
